As we approach the end of the year, I thought it would be interesting to look back at some highlights from 2016 here on Photowebo.
If you’re a new Photowebo reader, it’s possible you missed some of these. Even if you’re not new, most of these things are still quite relevant.
- The year kicked off with Imaging USA, and I shared some tips. I’ll be back there again in a couple weeks, so look for an updated article soon!
- If you’ve ever had a problem where your WordPress photos are sideways I addressed the common cause in an article in February. It’s turned out to be one of my most popular articles.
- In March I posed a couple analogies, deciding that WordPress is a DSLR and Squarespace is a Point and Shoot. I still haven’t decided what’s mirrorless.
- It’s good to try new things, and in April I tried the WP Engine automated migration plugin to move my personal website to their service. It worked flawlessly.
- I started kicking myself midyear after making a change to email optin techniques that I should’ve made sooner. That article explains an over 800% increase in conversions.
- This fall, I updated and republished my guide to OmniFocus for Photographers, which ought to be subtitled “How Aaron Gets Stuff Done Without Going (too) Crazy”
- The last major bit for the year was the creation of a free five-week email course called SEO Sundays which tackles SEO basics for photographers.
All in all it was a good year, and plans are already in the works to kick off 2017 with some additional resources for savvy modern photographers. I hope you’ll join me.
