Photowebo is all about empowering photographers on the internet.
The internet is pervasive in all aspects of a photographer’s life, whether that’s a full time pro or a part time hobbyist. Photowebo is here to make the internet easier, more interesting, and more profitable.
The internet world for photographers is broad, with various choices in website and blog platforms, email marketing systems, myriad of photo hosting options, print and digital photo ecommerce options, and the ever-changing world of social media and social networks.
Photowebo seeks to simplify the intersection of the internet and photography
Photowebo is an evolution of a site which began as WP Photographers, focused on WordPress and photography. After the first year of operation, it became obvious that photographers would be better served by a site with a wider vision, encompassing not just WordPress but also the broader set of tools and services available online.
About the Founder
Photowebo was created by Aaron Hockley, a photographer with a technology background.
After a decade of photography as a hobby, in 2008 he began working as a professional photographer in the Portland area. For the past seven years, he’s been writing and speaking about current photography topics with a special emphasis on technology and social media. He’s been consulted and appeared in articles appearing on CNN, the New York Times, TechCrunch, and BusinessWeek, and he often speaks with photographers about how to better utilize new media and internet marketing.
Aaron’s been using WordPress since 2004, founded WordCamp Portland and the Portland WordPress User Group in 2008, and has worked with dozens of WordPress-based websites. He’s spoken at WordPress and blogging conferences at the local, regional, and national levels, and is frequently consulted on topics around blogging and photography.
Here’s how to contact Aaron.
